Created by the New Brunswick Maple Syrup Association in partnership with the Citadelle Cooperative, this new award aims to recognize overall excellence in maple production in New Brunswick by highlighting the commitment, innovation, leadership, and positive contribution of producers who help advance the industry.
A rigorous manager with a deep respect for the environment, Mr. Thériault stands out for his sustainable and responsible approach to managing his certified organic sugar bush. His exemplary practices in forestry management, waste management, and biodiversity conservation reflect a remarkable environmental commitment. From a technical standpoint, Mr. Thériault demonstrates a strong spirit of innovation by integrating cutting-edge technologies and modern facilities to optimize production while reducing the environmental footprint of his operations. His ability to adapt to new standards, climate-related challenges, and market demands makes him a true leader in maple innovation.
Beyond his own enterprise, his commitment to the collective development of the industry is equally noteworthy. As President of the New Brunswick Maple Syrup Producers Cooperative, he works actively to defend producers’ interests, strengthen partnerships, and support the economic stability of the sector. The independent jury also highlighted his generous support to fellow maple producers, making him a model of collaboration and solidarity within the industry. Unanimously, the members of the independent jury praised the exceptional strength of his application, emphasizing his entrepreneurship, leadership, and significant contribution to the sustainable development of maple production in New Brunswick.
